MOSCOW, July 27 (AFP) - Russia is likely to sell 10 Il-76 troop
transporter planes to China, the head of Russian aeronautics firm
Ilyushin, Victor Livanov, said Thursday, quoted by the AVN news
agency.
A preliminary contract for the planes, worth between 30 and 35
million dollars each, has been agreed and Livanov said the deal
would probably go ahead. A second contract for a further 10 planes
is also possible.
Russia's last sale of Il-76s to China was in 1994. China is one
of Russia's main arms clients.
