Not a long while ago, Far East Reconnaissance Regiment of the National Air Defense in tight co-operation with Pacific Fleet Reconnaissance Command Post conducted a briliant operation of detecting US aircraft carrier assault group leaded by US Kitty Hawk in Japanese Sea. According to information obtained from the Far East Reconnaissance Regiment of the National Air Defense, the operation was complete success due to appropriate co-operation of the entire personnel involved. The results were fascinating, Russian aviators managed to make a fly-by directly over the Kitty Hawk's deck and take hundreds of pictures, which for americans was totally undesired and to say more unexpected - like a thunder in the middle of sunny day.
Crew members of two reconnaissance planes acted with confidence and professionalism, which allowed them to repeat similar operation which took place 30 years ago. In the late 1970s our Tu-16R plane similarly flew over the deck of an aircraft carrier with extended (!) landing gear. After such "spit" in the face many US officers were sent for a "brake" from their positions. The destiny of today's commanders, who allowed adversary aircraft to approach so dangerously close remains unknown.
