Not a long while ago, Far East Reconnaissance Regiment of the National Air Defense in tight co-operation with Pacific Fleet Reconnaissance Command Post conducted a briliant operation of detecting US aircraft carrier assault group leaded by US Kitty Hawk in Japanese Sea. According to information obtained from the Far East Reconnaissance Regiment of the National Air Defense, the operation was complete success due to appropriate co-operation of the entire personnel involved. The results were fascinating, Russian aviators managed to make a fly-by directly over the Kitty Hawk's deck and take hundreds of pictures, which for americans was totally undesired and to say more unexpected - like a thunder in the middle of sunny day.
Crew members of two reconnaissance planes acted with confidence and professionalism, which allowed them to repeat similar operation which took place 30 years ago. In the late 1970s our Tu-16R plane similarly flew over the deck of an aircraft carrier with extended (!) landing gear. After such "spit" in the face many US officers were sent for a "brake" from their positions. The destiny of today's commanders, who allowed adversary aircraft to approach so dangerously close remains unknown.

Re: the incident with the Kitty hawk, Our govt. has a phrase to handle unpleasant truths called "plausable deniability" which is to say it never happened.

I'm not making any definite statements, but US government just like any other government doesn't say everything and sometimes doesn't even say the truth - just for the purpose of preserving stability and various other security factors.

Details became known!!!
On October 17 and November 9 Russian aviators managed to perform simulated bombing of CV-63.
Everything happened like in a fairy tale:
The IL-38 reconnaissance plane was slicing through air far away from the carrier, not bothering air defense. Far enough not to attract Hornets and Tomcats but close enough to spy on the carrier. As soon as Kitty Hawk began its refueling, a signal was sent to the near-by command post. Immediately, a pair of Su-24MRs backed by a pair of Su-27s were sent at full throttle to the site. When spy planes blasted over the carrier deck, hundreds of pictures were taken showing panic on the carrier. American sailors armed with axes and lumberjacks were desperately cutting refueling cabels to allow fighters in the air. But the time was lost. According to the head of the National AF, Anatoliy Kornukov, in the event of war this would lead to inevitable destruction of the entire carrier. Pilots - Aleksander Renev, Mikhail Aristarkhov, Igor Radchenko, Vladimir Osipov - awarded with medals.
