Russia's cosmodrome "Plesetsk" launched the last rocket of the year and this ending millenium. "Cyclone-3" with 6 satellites onboard blasted off on wednesday at 21:57 (moscow time) towards the orbit and towards the edge of times.
The Head of Russia's Strategic Force general Vladimir Yakovlev mentioned that this "START" symbolically highlighted the entire space program of USSR and Russia in the 20th century. "Starting from 1957 our nation attempted 2829 rocket launches of which 2629 ended successfuly. This statistics speaks well for reliability of the national rocket technology. Cyclone blast-off became 2630th and the last one this century"
All satellites were launched in the interest of MOD and RosAviaCosmos.
