TU-214 Receives AP-24 Certification

Sources in Kazan-based Gorbunov Aircraft Production Association said on
Wednesday, January 11, 2001 that the company received an international quality
certificate for Tu-214 passenger jet.

The certificate attests that the plane fully complies with the AP-25 aviation
regulations.

TU-214 is capable of carrying 122 passengers to the distance of up to 7,200km.
Its engines are as fuel-efficient as those of Boeing`s. The Gorbunov enterprise
has orders for production of four TU-214 at present, but its facilities are
capable of producing up to 24 planes a year
