Exactly. You can check this video using the link:
OPERATION STEEL PIKE 1964 AMPHIBIOUS LANDING EXERCISE SPAIN 33954 This film, "Assault at Huelva" profiles Operation Steel Pike, the largest peacetime amphibious landing exercise in history, conducted by the United States Navy and Marine Corps and taking place on the coast of Spain in October to November 1964. The operation involved 84 naval ships and 28,000 Marines of the 2nd Marine Division, and was commanded by Vice Admiral John S.
I want to inform you that I am in contact with the son of the former GS-36 CO. He shared with me some of his Farther's memories refer to the operation "Steel Pike". According to him two Soviet trawlers watched this exercise on the site, i.e. AGI GS-36 from Black Sea Fleet and AGI Krenometr from Northern Fleet.
So I have a question to Javier if you can find somewhere in Spanish media sources pictures of both Soviet ships involved in this event?
Thank you in advance.
