По поводу этой и не только картинки-как обычно, и как всегда полный 0 по противоторпедной защите, хотя развитая ПТЗ одно из главных отличий ПЛА 4-го поколения от 3-го, по крайней мере раннего. Полный ноль про возможности проведения спец операций(хотя нам оно вообще не нужно), разбора стеллажей УБЗ для размещения доп. л.с.

USS Chung-Hoon (DDG-93) made the first Taiwan Strait transit of 2023, the Navy announced Thursday.
Chung-Hoon sailed through the strait Thursday, Lt. Kristina Wiedemann, a spokesperson for the U.S. Navy said in an email. Chinese state-run media did not acknowledge the passage, as of this posting.
The transit was done in accordance with international law and outside of any country’s territorial sea, Wiedemann said in the statement.
“Chung-Hoon’s transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” she said in the statement. “The United States military flies, sails and operates anywhere international law allows.”
The Arleigh-Burke class destroyer is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, and is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet.
Chung-Hoon is part of Destroyer Squadron 9 and is homeported at Naval Base Pearl Harbor.
The transit follows an incident last month in which a Chinese naval fighter had an “unsafe and unprofessional” interaction with a U.S. Air Force surveillance aircraft over the South China Sea. Last week, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force sortied 42 aircraft across the median line of the strait into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) as part of a so-called “strike drill” according to Chinese state media.
Chung-Hoon sailed through the strait Thursday, Lt. Kristina Wiedemann, a spokesperson for the U.S. Navy said in an email. Chinese state-run media did not acknowledge the passage, as of this posting.

The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) is now operating in the South China Sea, U.S. 7th Fleet announced Friday, marking the first time USS Nimitz (CVN-68) entered the body of water during the group’s 2022 to 2023 deployment.
The strike group will conduct routine operations in the South China Sea, including maritime strike training, flight operations and anti-submarine activities, according to the 7th Fleet news release.
“The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group has the capability to deliver integrated lethal and non-lethal effects from space to undersea, across every axis, and every domain,” Rear Adm. Christopher Sweeney, commander of CSG 11, said in the release.

Ingalls Shipbuilding won a $10.5 million contract to plan for the modernization period of the first two Zumwalt-class guided-missile destroyers that will include the installation of hypersonic missiles on the two warships.
Ingalls will work until December to complete the planning portion of the modernization period for USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000) and USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001).
Though not stated in the contract summary, the period will include the removal of the existing twin 155mm Advanced Gun System on each ship to install four 87-inch tubes for hypersonic missiles. The service has determined that installing the Common Hypersonic Glide Bodies (C-HGB) aboard the 16,000-ton destroyers is the fastest way to get a prompt global strike weapon to sea.
“We’re talking about deploying this system on DDG-1000 in 2025, that’s three years from now,” Vice Adm. Johnny Wolfe, the head of the Navy’s strategic systems programs, told reporters at the Naval Submarine League’s annual symposium in November. “We got to get on with getting all of the design for the Zumwalt, getting all of those tubes in there, as we pulled out the forward gun mounts. We’ve gotten to put these large diameter tubes in there, and then finish the integration work into the combat system.”
Three Common Hypersonic Glide Bodies (C-HGB) and their boosters could fit in each 87-inch tube – or 12 missiles per Zumwalt.
The Navy plans to field hypersonic weapons on the first Virginia-class submarine, with the Virginia Payload Module due to deploy by 2029.
Zumwalt is set to arrive at Ingalls for the upgrade by the end of the year. It’s unclear if Zumwalt-class ship USS Lyndon B. Johnson (DDG-1002), currently at the Mississippi yard, will also get the tubes installed.

721 пришёл в Бремертон на утиль, 722 как пишут уже вышел туда из Гуама 17-го числа, скоро будет на месте. На амеровском тихоокеанском флоте простые лоси и лоси 2-й серии получается всё-история, остались получается только улучшенные. У атлантистов ещё 2 последних корпуса (725, 750) есть и пока послужат. С учётом публиковавшихся планов следующие на очереди в утиль 2 улучшенных лося-751,754 в следующем году, последние боевые службы могут завершить уже в этом году.
К слову про новые лодки-795 так и не начала ЗХИ, хотя 15 месяцев со спуска уже прошло, теперь уже 100000000%- с 4-й серией вирджиний какие-то проблемы возникли, раз от спуска до выхода в море стало проходить в ~2 раза больше времени, нежели на 3-й.
