After Apollo 17, the Apollo program became COMPLETELY MILITARY, and the launches were moved to the Island of Diego Garcia in the middle of the Indian Ocean. This is the REAL reason why all of the native inhabitants of Diego Garcia were forced off the Island paradise and moved to a hellish place on the mainland, so there would be NO civilian witnesses to the launches.

A primary purpose was to establish a beam weapons base in Copernicus Crater on the Moon. But on 9-27-1977, just before it could become operational, the base was WIPED OUT by a Russian NUCLEAR-powered Cosmos Interceptor MANNED killer satellite in Earth orbit firing a NEUTRON PARTICLE BEAM continuously whenever the base was in line of sight.
