Meyerson, on last week’s abort test: we were optimistic about capsule’s performance, but “pretty certain” we’d lose booster.
Meyerson: that was a “picture-perfect” test. Very important step in human spaceflight program.
Meyerson: New Shepard test keeps us on track to start flying test astronauts by the end of 2017; comm’l missions in 2018.
Meyerson: we do New Shepard to practice. Can fly 100s of times to build up experience launching and landing.
Meyerson: New Glenn, with its first stage with 7 BE-4 engines, will be the smallest orbital launch vehicle we’ll ever build.
Meyerson: no significant damage to Fla. facilities from Hurricane Matthew. Installed 1st vertical beam at factory today.
Meyerson: “really great” progress on BE-4 engine; plan engine tests to begin early next year.
@blueorigin's Bezos on today's business model ($1B/yr into co) & tomorrow's for-profit goal. New Glenn cost ~$2.5B. https://t.co/Jr5ETnXayg
