SOUTHWEST ASIA, Jan. 22, 2015 – U.S. and coalition military forces have continued to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorists in Syria and Iraq, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.
Officials reported details of the latest strikes, which took place between 8 a.m. yesterday and 8 a.m. today, local time, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.
Airstrikes in Syria
Bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 10 airstrikes in Syria:
- — Near Kobani, nine airstrikes struck six ISIL tactical units and destroyed 17 ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL vehicle.
- — Near Raqqah, an airstrike destroyed an ISIL weapons storage facility.
Attack, bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 21 airstrikes in Iraq:
- — Near Kirkuk, an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle.
- — Near Mosul, 16 airstrikes struck two large ISIL units, two ISIL tactical units, an ISIL building, and an ISIL mortar team, and destroyed six ISIL culverts, two ISIL bridges, three ISIL buildings, an ISIL artillery system, 11 ISIL vehicles, an ISIL fighting position, six ISIL staging positions, two ISIL heavy weapons, an ISIL VBIED and four ISIL armored vehicles.
- — Near Sinjar, two airstrikes struck a large ISIL unit and an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL mortar position, an ISIL fighting position and an ISIL armored vehicle.
- — Near Tal Afar, two airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units and destroyed an ISIL VBIED.

29 января 2015 г. в р-не Бир-Кассаб разбился истребитель МиГ-21, пилот полковник Меднат Осман Хераллах погиб:

И ребелы, и халифатовцы заявили, что это они сбили самолёт, достоверно причина потери не известна. Место крушения и тело пилота нашли халифатовцы:

Сообщается, что потерянный самолёт принадлежал 946-й истребительной эскадрилье 73-й авиабригады ВВС САР (АБ Хальхала).

Международная телекомпания Al Jazeera со ссылкой на сирийское агентство SANA сообщила о том, что 5 марта в результате авиаудара, нанесенного ВВС Сирийской Арабской Республики в ходе спецоперации правительственных войск в провинции (мухафазе) Идлиб (араб. ادلب), был уничтожен военный руководитель «Ан-Нусры» Абу Хаммам аль-Шами, известный также как аль-Фарук аль-Сури.
Вместе с ним были убиты еще три высокопоставленных полевых командира – Абу Мусаб Фаластини, Абу Омар Курди и Абу Бара’а Ансари.
«Джабхат-ан-Нусра ли-ахлиш-Шам» (араб. جبهة النّصرة لأهل الشّام,) является отделением международной исламистской террористической организации «Аль-Каида» (араб. القاعدة), действующим на территории Сирии и Ливана.

Пишут что был сбит Миг-21 неподалеку от города Хафр Набуда (между Kafr Nabudah и Suqaylabiyah) в провинции Хама. Якобы самолет был сбит "при помощи средств ПВО", а его пилот при попытке катапультироваться погиб.
Пока что без официальных подтверждений (перепечатка в РБК заметки из Reuters, ссылающихся на на данные базирующегося в Лондоне Сирийского центра мониторинга по соблюдению прав человека - ну не тянет на официоз для меня)
